Nostalgia Section Help

The Nostalgia Section is designed to provide information about many non-musical peripheral aspects of the ragtime era and interesting peeks into history and society at that time. It is constantly a work in progress, so there may be some headings that do not yet have text associated with them, but eventually will.

The primary purpose of the Nostalgia Section is to bring further context to the music by relating some elements of society as they were in the 1900s and 1910s, plus trying to relate them to our own time. Hopefully the views of the personalities of the day will in some ways equal what is read in People Magazine today, and better than BuzzFeed.com. You'll also note some very familiar things to us that were still fairly new back then, and some things that no longer exist but were common then.

As with the other sections, each page can be accessed from the Navigation Menu by clicking on the desired topic. That page will then load. Some portions of Nostalgia may also contain a link that when clicked will produce a pop-up with a related element, such as a short video, lyrics or poetry, or similar content that would be a footnote to the article.

The Nostalgia Section gets added to from time to time, often based on your suggestions as well as the topic headings I have already placed there. If you have corrections or further information for me, please contact me at and I will respond accordingly.
