Resources Section Help

The Resources Section is designed to provide information about many aspects of ragtime on multiple levels and contexts. There are essentially four main areas of Resources:

Articles: These are essays of varying length on aspects of ragtime history and definition, performance, and peripheral topics that relate to the music or the era either culturally or contextually.

Composers: Mini-biographies, in some cases the only fairly complete ones, of ragtime era composers, later associated composers, performers and publishers linked to ragtime. The Composers are divided further into four pages - one for the most influential composers, one for male composers, one for female composers, and one for later jazz-era composers. Each individual biography can also be separated into a Print View pop-up for printing purposes. All may be readily posted to Facbook, Twitter, Google Plus, or other social media sites.

Lists: These are more or less listings of available resources, such as books or folios, as well as links to access them, and links to other ragtime-related sites as well. Many of the article pages also contain a subset of lists at the bottom.

FAQ or Frequently Asked Questions: This page is comprised of answers to what was at one time around 80% of the bulk of questions I have been asked. This is always a good place to go before sending me a query, since many find that the answers are already there in some detail. This is not meant to fend off welcome mail - just to help with repitition of answers to these questions given the volume of mail I receive.

The Resources Section gets added to from time to time, often based on your suggestions. Please contact me at if you have any additional ideas for useful articles for me to research and compile.
